Hungry Ghost Ritual Ceremony (Ullambana)

LTCA will hold a Zhongyuan Dharma Assembly during the seventh lunar month, offering Taoist rituals to honor and release wandering spirits, and to carry on the traditional Chinese values of filial piety. We also sincerely pray for blessings, protection, and peace for our living relatives.

From August 28 to 31, a sacred altar will be established at LTCA at our Taraval location in the Sunset, where scriptures will be recited and repentance rituals performed. These ceremonies allow the spirits to hear the Taoist teachings, be absolved of sins, overcome misfortune, and ascend to the celestial realms, bringing peace to both the living and the dead.

All are welcome to participate and register their names on the merit scroll. The temple also offers proxy burning of joss paper offerings on behalf of families as an expression of filial respect.
