Immortal Ho Sin Gu, the only female among the Eight Immortals, is a legendary Daoist widely revered for her virtues. Often depicted holding a lotus flower, she is also known as the "Lotus Immortal." Details of her life are shrouded in mystery, with folklore serving as the primary source of her story.

The most popular account places her origin in Tang dynasty Yongzhou (modern-day Lingling), where she was born as He Qiong. At 13, while gathering tea in the mountains, she encountered a Taoist (some say Grandmaster Lui Jou), who gave her celestial peaches and instructed her in immortal practices.

Immortal Ho Sin Gu is celebrated for aiding people in need and was regarded as a guardian deity during troubled times. She often symbolizes resilience, courage, and wisdom, inspiring many to pursue higher ideals. Her influence spans beyond Daoist practices, earning her veneration as a divine helper in daily life.
