Kwun Yum (or Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy in Chinese Buddhism) is a profoundly revered figure in Chinese faith, originating from Buddhism. Known as the "Goddess of Mercy," Kwun Yum listens to the cries of the world, aiding those in suffering.

Initially depicted as male, Kwun Yum’s transformation into a feminine figure reflects her maternal compassion. Whether as the thousand-armed Kwun Yum or the protector of women and children, she embodies ultimate compassion and remains a central figure in both Daoist and Buddhist traditions.
